The seminar on June 8 will be held in both English and Japanese.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1-hour online session (Zoom)  to learn about age-related eye diseases (younger individuals can also develop), will be co-provided by Momiji Health Care Society<\/a> and Japanese Social Services<\/a> (JSS), joined by Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care<\/a>.  *Held both in English and Japanese.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What is this session about?<\/h2>\n

Clouded vision, dim vision, sensitivity to light \u2013 So many individuals develop Cataract as age, with some in younger age like 40\u2019s. Or you\u2019ve heard about other popular age-related eye diseases, such as glaucoma and macular degeneration (ARMD). Each eye disease have different types and different speed of progression; some may require surgery but others not. Some seniors may not articulate the symptoms they experience; family or friends may be the first one to notice. Others may postpone to see the eye specialist with various reasons such as, \u201ceveryone gets it with age\u201d, \u201cscared that my eyes being touched,\u201d \u201cI can still see.\u201d Missing the timing to be treated, may bring certain risks higher e.g. surgery difficulty, post-surgery complications, discovering other critical eye disease, and even worse, blindness. Vision impairment affects all aspect of quality of life as well as safety, as we human beings receive so much information from eyesight.<\/p>\n

Join us and learn all about age-related eye diseases, its symptoms, when to see a specialist, treatment \/ post-treatment, risk factors (illness, lifestyle) to develop cataract, from Yuka Okada, registered geriatric nurse at Momiji Health Care Society, and start to take care of eye health of yours and your loved ones!<\/p>\n

Anyone interested can attend but pre-registration required. Click the registration button below, and fill and submit it by two days before the session date (Mon, Jun 6 ). If you have difficulty using online registration system, feel free to contact any of the hosting agencies.<\/p>\n

Those who registered, will receive an invitation email with the Zoom link and ID\/Passcode, by a day before each session date from Momiji Health Care Society (domain – @momiji.on.ca). 1. Auto-email (to confirm what you filled) right after registration<\/h4>\n

You will receive a confirmation email from the system right after you \u201cSubmit\u201d your form (this receipt does not contain the Zoom URL). Make sure to type correct email of yours. If you don\u2019t see it, check your junk folder first<\/strong>, then contact JSS.<\/p>\n

2. Your Zoom display name should be recognizable to the host<\/h4>\n

Upon joining, please display your name on Zoom in ways we recognize that you registered. For example, instead of using nicknames or initials, include your first and\/or last (e.g. Hanako Y, H. Yamada, Hanako Yamada) . We may not be able to allow you to enter for security purposes if we can\u2019t recognize your name.<\/p>\n

\u203bContact the hosting agency of your choice if you don\u2019t know how to change your Zoom display name. The method will be explained during the mini Zoom function session.<\/p>\n
