What is this session about?<\/h2>\n

\"\"There are many opportunities to meet people from different cultures in a multicultural city Toronto. Japan and China have many things in common, such as language, food, and customs.<\/p>\n

This time, we will invite two guest speakers to learn how New Year is celebrated in China and Japan.<\/p>\n

About our Guest Speaker<\/h2>\n

Guest #1\uff08China\uff09\uff1aAngela Guo<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Angela is a registered social worker of a non-profit a\u00a0He is member of AJC\u00a0<\/span>gency,\u00a0<\/span>Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care<\/a>, supporting various older adults including individuals with Chinese origin. She will show us how the New Year is celebrated in China!<\/span><\/p>\n

Guest #2\uff08Japan\uff09\uff1aYosh Inouye<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Yosh came to Canada in 1968. He is a member of AJC (Association for Japanese Culture) and board member of NAJC Toronto Chapter. His specialty is Visual Communication (Photography, Video, Graphic Design). He established his own photography studio in Toronto in 1971. He was an instructor at Sheridan College from 1983 to 1997 and professor at George Brown College from 1998 to 2009.<\/p>\n

From Yosh:
\nNow that I am retired, I live a carefree life, doing volunteer work mainly at JCCC. I still felt like a young person, but before I knew it, I was one of the elderly. So, I am interested in maintaining mental and physical health in old age, and have been reading many research papers.<\/p>\n

How to Attend<\/h2>\n

Anyone interested can attend but pre-registration required. Click the registration button below, and fill and submit it by two days before the session date (Mon, Nov 7). If you have difficulty using online registration system, feel free to contact the hosting agency.<\/p>\n

Upon joining, please display your name on Zoom in ways we recognize that you registered. For example, instead of using nicknames or initials, include your first and\/or last (e.g. Hanako Y, H. Yamada, Hanako Yamada) . We may not be able to allow you to enter for security purposes if we can\u2019t recognize your name. We\u2019ll show you how to change the display name 5 minutes before the session start.<\/p>\n
