What we put on our plates plays a key role in maintaining a healthy heart and preventing high blood pressure\u2014also known as hypertension. Certain foods can help lower blood pressure naturally, while others may unknowingly raise it.<\/p>\n<p>This presentation will guide you through the connection between diet and blood pressure, highlighting which foods to enjoy more often and which to limit.<\/p>\n<p>Join us to learn how healthy eating can be a powerful and practical tool for supporting long-term blood pressure control and overall well-being!<\/p>\n<h2>About our Guest Speaker<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Presenter 1: Jennifer Xu, RD, Certified Diabetes Educator\u00a0 (West Toronto DEP)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. She has over 10 years of nutrition counselling experience in the field of Type 2 diabetes. In her role as a diabetes educator at the West Toronto Diabetes Education Program, Jennifer provides culturally-appropriate nutrition education and counselling to clients living with prediabetes or Type 2 diabetes. Jennifer is passionate about educating and empowering her clients to make the best choices to achieve nutrition and overall health goals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presenter 2: Abida Rahman, RN, Certified Diabetes Educator (West Toronto DEP)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Abida is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator. Abida has worked 9 years in the diabetes field with the West Toronto Diabetes Education Program. Abida is passionate about helping her at risk, prediabetic and clients living with diabetes achieve their goals and live a healthy life. We are dedicated and committed towards promoting healthy community living with a focus on diabetes self-management strategies. Our Diabetes Educator teams, consisting of Registered Nurses and Registered Dietitians, offer free services.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Attend<\/h2>\n<p>Anyone interested can attend but pre-registration required. For example, instead of using nicknames or initials, include your first and\/or last (e.g. Hanako Y, H. Yamada, Hanako Yamada) . We may not be able to allow you to enter for security purposes if we can\u2019t recognize your name.
