1-hour online session (Zoom) to learn about Powers of Attorney and Will from Nozomi (Zoe) Smith, an estate lawyer practicing in Ontario, will be co-provided by\u00a0Momiji Health Care Society<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Japanese Social Services<\/a> (JSS), in Japanese. This time, as with last year, we will deliver it in an enhanced version, covering frequently asked questions. The content will mainly focus on Ontario.<\/p>\n

What is this session about?<\/h2>\n

Many people want to avoid placing a burden on their families and to make sure their wishes are clearly understood. Preparing \u201cjust in case\u201d is an important step toward peace of mind while live in Canada. Who will manage your property? Who will make care decisions on your behalf? How can you ensure your wishes are passed on to loved ones? These are issues best addressed while you are healthy. In Ontario, there are key documents everyone should consider. This seminar is your chance to learn about them directly from an experienced lawyer.<\/p>\n

Last year, we explored \u201cPowers of Attorney and Wills\u201d by focusing on common questions. This year, we will continue in the same style. If you have specific questions, please submit them through the registration form at least one week before the event. We will try to cover as many as possible, depending on time and flow. (Please note: the session will provide general legal information only and cannot give personal legal advice.) If you are joining this series for the first time, we strongly recommend watching the introductory \u201cBasics\u201d video<\/a> in advance.<\/p>\n

This program is designed not only for seniors and caregivers, but for anyone\u2014regardless of age\u2014who wants to be prepared and live with peace of mind in Canada.<\/p>\n

This seminar will be conducted in Japanese only.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anyone interested can attend but pre-registration required. Click the registration button below, and fill and submit it by two days before the session date (Mon, Oct 20). If you have difficulty using online registration system, feel free to contact the hosting agency.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Your Zoom display name should be recognizable to the host<\/h4>\n

Upon joining, please display your name on Zoom in ways we recognize that you registered. For example, instead of using nicknames or initials, include your first and\/or last (e.g. Hanako Y, H. Yamada, Hanako Yamada) . We may not be able to allow you to enter for security purposes if we can\u2019t recognize your name. We\u2019ll show you how to change the display name 5 minutes before the session start.<\/p>\n
