e-Learning: Powers of Attorney and Wills: Answers to Common Questions
Presented by Momiji / JSS
Wed. Oct 22, 2025, 3:00 – 4:00 pm EDT (Japanese)
1-hour online session (Zoom) to learn about Powers of Attorney and Will from Nozomi (Zoe) Smith, an estate lawyer practicing in Ontario, will be co-provided by Momiji Health Care Society and Japanese Social Services (JSS), in Japanese. This time, as with last year, we will deliver it in an enhanced version, covering frequently asked questions. The content will mainly focus on Ontario.
What is this session about?
Many people want to avoid placing a burden on their families and to make sure their wishes are clearly understood. Preparing “just in case” is an important step toward peace of mind while live in Canada. Who will manage your property? Who will make care decisions on your behalf? How can you ensure your wishes are passed on to loved ones? These are issues best addressed while you are healthy. In Ontario, there are key documents everyone should consider. This seminar is your chance to learn about them directly from an experienced lawyer.
Last year, we explored “Powers of Attorney and Wills” by focusing on common questions. This year, we will continue in the same style. If you have specific questions, please submit them through the registration form at least one week before the event. We will try to cover as many as possible, depending on time and flow. (Please note: the session will provide general legal information only and cannot give personal legal advice.) If you are joining this series for the first time, we strongly recommend watching the introductory “Basics” video in advance.
This program is designed not only for seniors and caregivers, but for anyone—regardless of age—who wants to be prepared and live with confidence in Canada.
This seminar will be conducted in Japanese only.
