New Board Member Introduction

Greetings!

My name is Yukari Seko. I immigrated to Canada in 2007 from Tokyo and completed my doctorate at York University. I’m currently a faculty member at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), School of Professional Communication, researching immigrant health, food communication, and mental health. I’ve been volunteering at the JSS since 2012 in a variety of roles and had a pleasure of meeting with amazing people from the Nikkei community. It is an honour and privilege to be part of the JSS. I am looking forward to contributing to the Nikkei community across the GTA, the community I call “home”.
