e-Learning: Learning the Essence of Tidying Up: Decluttering Seminar

Presented by Momiji / JSS

Wed. Jun 26, 2024, 3:00 – 4:00 pm EDT

The second online seminar (via Zoom) of June 2024 is to learn the essence of tidying up!

*Held in Japanese

What is this session about?

This seminar provides an opportunity to explore the art of organization and tidying up. In this seminar, we will learn about the “KonMari Method” of tidying up, which is like a treasure hunt where we keep only the things that spark joy rather than searching for things to let go. It’s a lifelong skill once you acquire it. Let’s learn how to live comfortably alongside the things that spark joy!

In this course, you will learn:

  • The principles of the KonMari Method
  • Understanding the obstacles to tidying
  • The optimal sequence for tidying up
  • Techniques for identifying joy-sparking item

About our Guest Speaker

Kozue Sakamoto (KonMari-style Tidying Consultant)

After immigrating to Canada 17 years ago, I found myself struggling to balance raising two sons, work, and household chores, leading to daily frustrations. It was during this period that I earnestly embraced Marie Kondo’s KonMari method of tidying up, which helped me confront myself and alleviate my irritations. I learned that the key is not just to tidy up for appearances but to genuinely engage with and appreciate each item. This approach has helped me avoid reverting back to clutter and chaos.
