Let’s walk/run together to support JSS operations! (Goal $5,000!)

We are pleased to announce the 5th annual “JSS Challenge”, a fundraising Walkathon event.
JSS Challenge started in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Would you like to walk or run together again this year to help JSS operations?
Continuing from last year, we will have a group walk starting from JCCC (equivalent to 5km) and a virtual walk. Participants joining remotely can walk or run for one hour at their own pace in their preferred location and let us know the distance covered.
How many kilometers can we walk together? Our goal this year is $5,000 aiming to walk 100km in total with everyone! After the walk, we plan to have a social gathering (with light refreshments) at JCCC.
After the walk, there will be a social gathering (with lunch) at the JCCC. Participation is free for JSS members. For non-members there will be a lunch charge of $10 ($5 for children of elementary school age or younger).
To all supporters of JSS activities, those who volunteer or are interested in volunteering, those interested in community work, social work, counseling, welfare-related activities, please feel free to join us. We, the JSS, are looking forward to exchanging information and interacting with everyone at this event, where many staff and board directors will also participate.
The donations we receive will be used as operating funds for JSS. We eagerly await your support and participation so that JSS can continue to provide high-quality services to even more people.
Schedule for the day:
10:30 AM – 10:45 AM
Group walk participants gather at JCCC Hosaki Room for registration.
10:45 AM – 11:45 AM
1-hour group walk.
Route: Starting from JCCC, including the East Don River Trail for a 1-hour route. There are some gentle slopes along the way. We plan to adjust the walking speed according to the abilities of the participants.
Virtual participants, please walk for 1 hour each and report to us the distance walked.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Group walk participants gather at JCCC.
Social gathering with light refreshments (free of charge, for on-site participants only).
Registration Fee:
- JSS Members: Free
- Non-members: $10 for lunch
- Children (elementary school age or younger): $5 for lunch
Non-members can participate for free if they become a member on the spot (Individual membership: $25/year, Family membership: $40/year).
Participation is free for those who only join the walk and do not participate in lunch.
How to participate:
Please fill out the registration form by clicking the button below. (If online registration is difficult, please contact JSS.)
When you click the button, the registration form will open. Additionally, once pledges are collected, please fill in the sponsor/donation amount on the pledge sheet and send it to JSS.
Please consider donating to Team JSS!
If you wish to send donations collectively from multiple individuals by cheque, please fill out the pledge sheet.
E-transfer or donations by cheque are also welcome. (Please make the recipient “Japanese Social Services”.)
