Fundrasing: 2024 June Yamamoto Memorial Walk
Walk and run together to support JSS!

Date: Sunday, November 10, 2024, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
This fall, JSS will once again host a fundraising event, the June Yamamoto Memorial Walk. This year’s event will be held on the same day as the Volunteer Appreciation Gathering, and light refreshments will be provided after the walkathon. Even if you haven’t volunteered before, you’re welcome to join either just the walk, or both the walk and the lunch and social gathering. If you’d like to enjoy the refreshments, please register early.
This walkathon event began in 2021 in memory of the late Junko (June) Yamamoto, a dedicated volunteer, friend, and supporter of JSS. Ms. Yamamoto, a former JSS board member and the organization’s first Fundraising Committee Chair, continued to support JSS even after stepping down, until her passing. The idea for participating in an autumn marathon event also came from her.
Would you like to join us, either in person or from wherever you are, and walk together with us in spirit? Your support is needed to help JSS continue to provide services to more people in our community.
All donations will be used to fund JSS’s operations. Your participation and contributions will help us continue delivering high-quality services to those in need.
Event Schedule
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Group walk participants meet at the JCCC Hosaki Room for registration and a group photo.
10:30 AM – 11:45 AM
Approximately a one-hour group walk
Route: Starting at the JCCC, the route will include the East Don River Trail and last around one hour. There are some hills along the way. The walking speed and route will be adjusted based on participants’ abilities.
Virtual participants are encouraged to walk for one hour on their own and share how many kilometers they walked.
12:00 PM
Gather again at the Hosaki Room for light refreshments and socializing (co-hosted with the Volunteer Appreciation Gathering).

How to Participate
Please fill out the registration form by clicking the button below. (If online registration is difficult, please contact the inquiry address below.)
By clicking the button, you will open the registration form. Once you gather pledges, please fill out the pledge sheet with sponsor names and donation amounts, and submit it to JSS.
We kindly ask for your donations to JSS!
If you are collecting multiple donations and would like to send a check, please fill out the pledge sheet. Donations via e-transfer or check are also welcome (please make checks payable to “Japanese Social Services”).
