HEALTHY EATS: LIVING FOOD IN TORONTO

You could say that after more than 40 years in Canada two-thirds of my body has been sustained by Canadian food. Until now, my family and I have been free of any serious illnesses and have led an active, healthy life.

RAISING AMURO CLUB

“Raising Amuro Club” was created following a symposium on “Children’s Brains and their Development” held on September 26th and 27th, 2011 by Professor Youichi Sakakibara of Ochyanomizu Graduate School and its discussion sessions.

IF JSS EXITS?

Rev. Edward Yoshida is the Pastor of Wesley Chapel Japanese Church. He was one of the founding members of the Japanese Family Services (predecessor of Japanese Social Services) and he’s been the longest-standing member and donor of both organizations in the last 25 years.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES OF THE JAPANESE VISITOR ASSOCIATIONS (JAVA)

JAVA is a nonprofit volunteer group based in the Toronto area. It consists mainly of young Japanese Canadians, Japanese immigrants, Canadians with experience living in Japan, and Japanese people living in Canada just temporarily and those who are interested in Japan/Canada relations.

PASSING REAL ‘UMAMI’ DOWN THE GENERATIONS

Whenever I say “I conduct a workshop on miso,” numerous people ask in surprise, “Really? Is it possible to make your own miso in Toronto?” Apart from making it in Japan, is it possible to make miso in foreign countries?
