Team JSS will run at Waterfront Marathon
The 2015 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon will be held on October 18th (Sunday), and JSS will once again send three marathon runners. There are two different courses the runner can choose from: full marathon (42km) and half marathon (21 km). Mr. Takanori Kuge (counsellor) will run a full marathon and Ms. Junko Mifune (part-time counsellor) and Mr. David Ikeda (President of JSS Board) will run a half marathon like last year.
The three runners successfully finished the run last year and received medals from the organizers. (Please see a picture of the three runners with their medals.) The Toronto Waterfront Marathon is one of JSS’s fundraising events. As a first time participant in 2014, we raised almost $6000.00. We are hoping to raise even more funds this year. Please pledge your support and donate by clicking the button below. Any donation over $10.00 will receive a tax receipt. We appreciate your kind cooperation and encouragement from each member of our community.
You can also send a donation by cheque, payable to Japanese Social Services and mail to our office. Please indicate on the cheque that the funds are for Toronto Waterfront Marathon 2015. You can also download our pamphlet and pledge form (PDF).
